TREE PLANTATION DRIVE HELD AT M.A. RANGOONWALA COLLEGE OF DENTAL SCIENCE AND RESEARCH CENTRE, PUNE-01 UNDER M.U.H.S. DAY

MAHARASHTRA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCE DAY (M.U.H.S. DAY) WAS CELEBRATED AT M.A. RANGOONWALA DENTAL COLLEGE AND RESEARCH CENTRE ON 10TH JUNE’22 WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM. A TREE PLANTATION DRIVE WAS ORGANIZED BY COLLEGE NSS UNIT ON THE AUSPICIOUS OCCASION OF 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV.’ THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS EVENT WAS TO INCULCATE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AMONG STUDENTS AND TO INCORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIAL GOVERNANCE BY THE COLLEGE.

THE EVENT COMMENCED FROM 10 AM ONWARD. ALL THE STUDENTS, TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING STAFF MEMBERS GATHERED NEAR THE ASSEMBLY AREA. FLAG HOISTING WAS DONE BY OUR RESPECTED PRINCIPAL DR. RAMANDEEP DUGGAL AND REGISTRAR SHRI R.A. SHAIKH. FOLLOWING IT, M.U.H.S. ANTHEM WAS PLAYED. TREE PLANTATION DRIVE STARTED FROM 10:30 AM ONWARDS. THE STUDENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS SELECTED EMPTY SPACES IN THE COLLEGE GARDEN AND VERANDAH TO PLANT SAPLINGS IN A WELL ORGANIZED WAY. THE SAPLINGS WERE SUPPLIED BY PUNE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION. IN ORDER TO RESTORE THE ECO BALANCE OF THE AFFORESTATION DRIVE WAS TAKEN WITH ALL SERIOUSNESS. THE FIRST SAPLING WAS PLANTED BY OUR PRINCIPAL DR. DUGGAL FOLLOWED BY REGISTRAR SHRI R.A. SHAIKH AND MEMBERS OF STAFF. A TOTAL OF 25 SAPLINGS WERE PLANTED BY FIRST YEAR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS UNDER INITIATIVE OF ‘ONE STUDENT ONE TREE.’ THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO NURTURE THEM TILL THE COMPLETION OF THEIR GRADUATION AND THEN HAND THEM OVER TO THE NEW STUDENTS. EVERY STEP OF THE PROGRAM WAS APPRECIATED BY THE ADMINISTRATION. THE PROGRAM CREATED A GREAT STIR AMONG GENERAL PUBLIC TOO.

SUCH LITTLE STEPS TAKEN TOGETHER BY THE COLLEGE AND STUDENTS WILL SURELY HELP IN FOSTERING STRONG MENTAL AND SOCIAL HEALTH AMONGST STUDENTS SO THAT THEY CAN CONNECT WITH THEIR PEERS, THEIR ELDERS, THEIR COMMUNITY AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE HELD AT M.A. RANGOONWALA DENTAL COLLEGE AND RESEARCH CENTRE UNDER SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN 2022

A Report
‘’Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’’ and ‘’Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyaan” was organized at M.A. Rangoonwala Dental College and Research Centre by the college NSS unit and dept. of Public Health Dentistry on the auspicious occasion of 75th anniversary of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.’ The main purpose of this event was to create awareness among students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.
The program commenced from 9 am. Our honorable President Shri P A Inamdar and our Principal Dr. Ramandeep Duggal felicitated the dignitaries present and briefed them about the event. Cleanliness drive started 9:30 am onwards. Students along with staff members were asked to clean the campus along with bylines of Shankar Seth road. Students were divided into two groups with one group leading the drive at the campus and other group at Shankar Seth Road. Some of them picked up the brooms and started their job. Others were assigned the task of waste disposal. It was followed by speech given by Varad Deshpande, Joint Sports Secretary pertaining to the movement of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and its significance.
This program was graced by Mrs. Asha Raut, deputy commissioner, Solid Waste Management, Pune Municipal Corporation and Dr. Ketaki Ghatge, assistant health officer, Pune Municipal Corporation. Mrs. Raut shared her valuable insights about the drive and importance of sanitation. At 11 am, a short lecture on waste disposal management was given by Dr. Ghatge. It was followed by an interactive musical performance by Mr. Mahadev Jadhav, brand ambassador for Swachh Bharat Mission, PMC. The main motto of this musical act was to create an awareness regarding cleanliness and encourage the students to do the same. Following this, our registrar Shri. R A Shaikh felicitated PMC employees and sanitary workers thanking them for their contribution towards keeping our city neat and clean.
The students really felt a sense of satisfaction after doing a little towards making their country a little cleaner.

शिवस्वराज्य दिन
महाराष्ट्र आरोग्य विज्ञान विद्यापीठ अंतर्गत दिनांक ६ जून २०२२ रोजी शिवस्वराज्य दिन साजरा करण्यात आला.
या कार्यक्रमात छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज यांच्या स्मृतीस विनम्र अभिवादन करून त्यांनी स्थापन केलेल्या स्वराज्य आणि सुराज्य संकल्पनेस उजाळा दिला
विद्यार्थ्यांनी या कार्यक्रमास उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद देऊन भाषण केले.
या भाषणांमध्ये शिवाजी महाराजांचे स्वराज्य आणि सुराज्य, सर्व धर्म समभाव, महिलांबद्दल आदर, व्यवस्थापन त्यांचे कर्तृत्व आणि नेतृत्व, दूरदृष्टी पणा, शिवराज्याभिषेक इत्यादी विषयांवर विद्यार्थ्यांनी आपले मत मांडले.
श्री महादेव जाधव यांनी शिवाजी महाराजांच्या जीवनावर आधरित पोवाडे सादर केले.
या कार्यक्रमात दोनशे विद्यार्थ्यांनी सहभाग दिला.
या कार्यक्रमाचे पमुख् पाहुणे डेप्युटी कमिशनर -श्रीमती आशा राउत, सहाय्यक आरोग्य अधिकारी-डॉ. केतकी घाटगे यांनी शिवराज्याभिषेक दिनानिमित्य आपले मनोगत व्यक्त केले.
त्यांनी शिवाजी महाराजांच्या सर्वधर्म समभाव व त्यांच्या रामराज्याविषयी विद्यार्थ्यांना माहिती दिली.

त्यानंतर रजिस्टर आर.ए.शेख सरांनी शिवाजी महाराजांच्या अजोड कार्याची महती पटवून दिली.
त्याच प्रमाणे आमचे आदरणीय अध्यक्ष डॉ पि.ए.इनामदार सर ,आमचे उपप्राचार्य डॉ.विवेक हेगडे सर हे कार्यक्रमाला उपस्थित होते .

या कार्यक्रमाला कॉलेजचे प्राचार्य डॉ. रमनदीप् दुग्गल यांचे मार्गदर्शन लाभले.

The college has a well-equipped library, managed by a well-qualified librarian and co-staff, with a variety of textbooks of Indian as well as foreign authors from all the concerned faculties. We have subscriptions to a number of national and international journals in copy as well as journals from various publication houses that are available as E-Journals as well.

Research

The Institute has a competent Research committee headed by the Principal. All suitable facilities are provided to the students and the staff to conduct research at various levels. The institute has well-qualified staff for expert guidance for various research projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Well-equipped laboratory facilities are set up on the campus with compatible staff to cater to the needs of certain studies. The students and staff are assisted to avail facilities from higher centers if their study demands, with mutual cooperation from various institutes.

The primary goal of this project is to instill in the students and the staff a zeal for advanced studies aiming at the benefit of the community and the fraternity.

Cultural & Extra-Curricular Activities

The institute promotes all the students to participate in various cultural and extracurricular activities. Every year a cultural committee is elected with student representatives. The cultural committee takes care of the programs organized at various events and festivals in the college. The students are promoted to actively participate in various events at inter-college, district, state, and national levels. Many students have participated in such events and their success is reflected by the laurels brought to the college. Under the guidance of the Extracurricular committee, various programs like the Annual Function, Talent shows, Talk shows, skits, plays, roadshows, debates, Rangoli competitions, and Dance and singing competitions are organized.

The college publishes an annual college magazine with contents of curricular fields like special case reports, innovations in the fields, extracurricular materials like poetry, paintings, sketches, short stories

The aim of these activities is to promote interaction, and awareness, develop overall personality and have fun among the students and staff.

All care is taken to check that strict rules have been adhered as laid down by the college and that discipline is maintained. 

M.A.Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences and Research Center appoints a Cultural and Sports Council every year for the smooth functioning of the extracurricular activities throughout the year.

        Staff charges are appointed to overview the work done by the cultural and sports council members.

        The members of both the respective councils are elected from the intern batch on basis of merit and participation.

        The cultural council consists of a cultural secretary and a joint cultural secretary selected on basis of academic merit and 8-9 cultural members are selected on the basis of overall participation in cultural activities. Likewise, the sports council consists of a sports secretary and 3-to 4 sports council members selected on basis of overall participation in sports activities.

        Both the councils in unison are responsible for hosting an annual cultural and sports week for the students under the guidance of their respective heads and staff in charge.
